Witch SSD to get?

Go to solution Solved by Aniallation,

There is an issue with the 840 Evo's (not sure if the 850 Evo has same problem) where performance will degrade quickly over time. They released a firmware update to correct the problem but they discovered the problem comes back but not as bad as before. They're still working on another firmware update that will perminantly fix the problem.

The issue is in the hardware, not the software/firmware. The new update will not permanently fix the problem, it will again only make it "better", to an extent.

What about the Kingston HyperX Fury? It has a good price and the read and write speeds seem quite good.

SP900 VS HyperX Fury

So I am trying to find a SSD for my system but there are so many options...

What I want/need:

1. A minimal of 120GB more if possible

2. It has to be quite fast. (It does not have to be the fastest one but not slow)

3. It has to be SATA 3 (Or M.2 but with a black PCB and I have not seen those)

Here are a few options I found:

1. Samsung 850 EVO 120GB     €74,99

2. Crucial M550 128GB              €69,00

3. Adata SP900 128GB              €68,80

4. Kingston Fury SSD 120GB     €65,80

5. OCZ Arc 100 120GB              €65,20

6. Crucial MX100 256GB           €96,70

7. Crucial BX100 250GB            €94,80

8. OCZ Arc 100 240GB              €98,80

Is it worth getting a 240GB+ for just the OS and most used programs and 1 or 2 games

Witch one do you suggest?

Thanks for the help ;)

Hands down SP900. Best performing out of the list and best reliability.

Don't get the 840/850 EVO, TLC just can't be trusted at the moment. Anyone saying EVO is just following the bandwagon.

Thanks!

I am getting the SP900

No problem. Enjoy the epic speeds.

I have two SP900s (one 2.5" SATA version and one M.2-2242 version) and I can personally confirm that they are both fantastic. The M.2 version doesn't come in a black PCB though, only green, so unless you want to plasti-dip it, the 2.5" SATA version would be your only bet for black.
