SSD Slow boot - HELP

I have had my SSD giving me slow boots since I first bought it. At first I was like it doesn't really bother me, but know I just bought a new 2TB drive and went for a complete re-install to see if i could fix the problem and to avoid any issues. But my slow boot times are back, and I've looked online but I cannot seem to find a solution. Even when I disconnect my storage drive its still slow. The problem is the windows flag takes around 1:30 to finally start, then the computer boots really fast which suggests something is stopping it. Also If i turn my PC off when it boots and then turn it back on, the boot time is very fast. I don't want to turn my pc on, then off, back on just to get the SSD performance i bought it for. I've done all the usuals like update AHCI drivers, priority boot and still no luck. PLEASE HELP

OK - from what you are saying - it takes a while to actually get the Windows Flag up (at which point you know you are booting Windows itself) correct?

This would have less to do with your SSD and more with your BIOS - up to that point, or just before, your BIOS will be loading and initializing things. Do you have some sort of BIOS boot screen displayed or say a munufacturers backgroud? Maybe your system is doing long mem tests at each boot? Not set for quick boot in the BIOS?

I would start looking there, in the BIOS, as that seems to be what it sounds like your issue is...

Unplug all USB devices, eSATA devices, everything other than your mouse and keyboard and try to boot system. If it isn't slow, you know it is one of your peripherals. I had a SansDigital 4-bay eSATA plugged in to my machine for a few years and it added a good minute to my boot time; it was something I just had to deal with.

If it is still slow without any USB/eSATA/Firewire devices plugged it, it is likely your BIOS as Whaler said. Disable features that you don't need and see if it speeds things up.

I'm sure the BIOS isn't the problem. It goes through the checks, then it coming up with the black screen starting windows. But it takes around 1 minute and 30 seconds for the windows flag to show, then it boots fast. Thanks for your fast replies.

Get ATTO disk benchmark and post a screenshot of the results from it and see what you get.

[/quote']Assuming you have already tried what I mentioned above and it didn't help, it is probably a slow device IN your computer that is taking a long time to initialize. Do you have any old HDDs in your system? Any dead HDDs sill plugged in? Try booting without any of your storage drives in the system (just have your SSD plugged in) and see what happens.
