help with new gpu

ok so im selling my 690 and had thought i would buy a 770 and add a second one later on however now that ive seen some of the benchmarks for the 760 and what it can do in sli handily outperforming a titan and outperforming crossfire 7950's and being within a few fps of my gtx 690 im seriously considering changing to the sli 760's as i can afford that right now versus buying a single 770 lightning edition now and maybe if i can afford it adding a second one later on. Model of 760's i buy would be the msi gaming edition or the evga with the acx cooler on it. my budget will be around $725 give or take and included in that purchase will be a logitech G710+ (jacked my friends for a few days till i get mine mwuahahaha) now with this sli 760 gaming edition option with the keyboard at my local vendor it will come to about $680 which is nicely below budget, my budget may extend to around $850 im not totally sure what it will be till probably tomorrow or the day after. my local vendor that i will be purchasing from is memory express so i wold appreciate if you use their pricing in your suggestions. i will note that i am considering the 780 as well however 2 760's handily out perform it for cheaper sooo.. yeah.. suggestions :)

I'd say get the 760s if you want the pure performance. I recommend the ACX EVGA 760s, decent cooling solution along with the best warranty any partner provides.

Also, I'm not sure what benchmarks you've seen, but I wouldn't expect the 760s to outperform everywhere, check to see that it's really a step up.
 

If it were me though, I'd probably just keep the 690. Seriously.

A single more powerful GPU is better. A 780 would be a better choice from a compatibility standpoint. Some games don't support SLI properly. In that scenario, your FPS will either be really low, or you won't get any gain at all.

im well aware of that ive been using sli for long enough to know the pros and cons of both and it doesnt bother me

normally i would keep the 690 however im going to be doing a themed build and a giant green glowing logo doesnt exactly fit in, ill lose a few fps but for 1080p gaming that few fps will make no difference and allow me to purchase some other much needed products for my system

because i was curious to see if anyone would have suggestions that i havent listed and their opinions on what i have listed, im aware of pros and cons of sli and i am favoring the 780 for the fact of sli scaling however the price for performance for 2 760's is really catching my eye. Wondered what some other members of our forum would suggest to help me make the final choice because right now im torn between both options

but one thing u do have 2 consider is that u have less room 2 upgrade. On the other hand u don't really need 2 upgrade that much, and u could always add another 760 :D

yup, 3 760's would be sweet :) destroy a titan and still be cheaper then a titan even with poor scaling above 2 way
