So I have been wanting a surround set-up for a long time now and i have been trying to find the perfect speakers for my requirements.  So what are they, all I want really is a 5.1 surround set-up and good quality.  The only problem is that the cable runs for my room are just to long and wireless speakers take to much power outlets so I am left with one option; to find speaker cable extensions.  I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for speakers under 250 USD or speaker cable extensions.  Thanks in advance.

if your room is too big for computer speakers then you should look at running a home theater styled setup with 5 monitors and a sub hooked together with speaker wire.

you can run the wire under the carpet through the ceiling, or into the basement like I do.

"Pardon my French but this is just about the most ignorant blanket statement I've ever read. And though this is the internet, I'm not even exaggerating."

Running the cables through walls is not really an option...

I find that logitech speakers are typically a very good option when it comes to price/performance at entry to mid levels. You should be alright with that as long as you aren't expecting godly sound for you home setup.
