Father brought home a Lenovo G570 (corrding to the BIOS screen) that won't boot into Windows - I want to use a Ubuntu 14.04 DVD to try to fix the issue - but another issue the computer apparently won't read the optical disc) - what program could I use on a different computer (and the one I'm typing this on) to rip the Ubuntu DVD to ISO to place on a USB to stick in the Lenovo? And if it will boot into Ubuntu (live testing) - how would I then go about fixing the booting into Windows issue?

I had issues on a different laptop with Ubuntu. It has booted into Ubuntu, to fix the Windows issue (it just stays at the glowing Windows logo - never boots into the desktop it self). How would I fix that within Ubuntu 14.0.1?
