Recommendation for a SLI

Good afternoon friends, recently I bought a motherboard MSI Z97 Gaming 7 and want to make a SLI with 2 MSI GTX 560 Ti, 2 are the same model, differing only in that one is 2GB and the other only 1Gb. .. want to do this while waiting to gather more money and buy a GTX 980. I hope you can help clarify my doubt in that case.

Not happening. You must have the same amount of VRAM on each card.

Your SOL you can't SLI those cards due to the difference in memory.

As far as I know it still won't work as the cards need to have the same amount of VRAM no matter what.

rip half the memory chips off the 2GB card pcb. otherwise I don't think it will work. Its worth trying them in both orientations just to be sure, but the Vram mismatching is a myth afaik. If it was me I would try (or try to find out if) flashing the bios of the 2GB card to only use 1GB, but who knows if that even works or has been done.

You are mixing SLI and Crossfire now.

 

sorry my mistake it's useb to be the case

 

- All GPUs must have the same amount of VRAM and an identical Bus Width

-- You cannot use a "2GB" version with a "4GB" version or "3GB" version with a "6GB" version in SLI or a 1GB 192 bit bus with a 1GB 256 bit bus Etc.

Note: It used to be possible to enable SLI on cards with differing VRAM but this is no longer available.

is that they are old already, but recently is that I'm updating my pc, and I bought this msi z97 gaming 7. 16 gb of ram and i7 4790k processor, not enough to buy the msi gtx 980, $ 200 .. I am missing . so I want to make it work with those 2 to see how they work, but wanted to know if that difference function having only memory

As others have said above you cannot use those cards in a SLi config. Due to the mismatched VRAM. 

 

You could try and flash a BIOS but that may not work.

I do not do SLI, I will use only one while I wait to buy the gtx 980 or maybe buy me the 970 ... thank you very much.
