I'm upgrading a PC in my office and want to buy new CPU, motherboard and RAM. My budget is about 150$ USD and want to get the best out of it. It is a normal office computer but I want it to be fast since I am spending some money. Also there is no graphic card so I am counting on the cpu (apu).

I made two configurations.

First (AMD):

CPU: AMD A4 X2 6320 ( 3.8GHz, 2 core)

Motherboard: ECS A55F2-M3

RAM:  4GB DDR3 1600MHz, G.SKILL Value Series, F3-1600C11S-4GNS

Second (Intel):

CPU: INTEL Celeron G1840 BOX ( 2.8GHz, 2 core)

Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33

RAM:  4GB DDR3 1600MHz, G.SKILL Value Series, F3-1600C11S-4GNS

What are your thoughts? What is better or what changes would you make?

Also the case that I plan to put this in has MS 400W PSU that has been working pretty good so far, but will it be enough for new components?

Try something like this:

CPU: AMD A6-6400K 3.9GHz Dual-Core Processor  ($46.99 @ NCIX US)

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-F2A88XM-D3H Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard  ($69.89 @ OutletPC)

Total: $154.87

Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

It was a custom built PC.

Here is the current configuration

Motherboard: Asus P5KPL-AM IN/ROEM/SI

CPU: DualCore Intel Core 2 Duo E7400, 2800 MHz

RAM: 2x Kingston 1 GB DDR2-800 DDR2 SDRAM

Hard Drive: Western Digital  WD1600AAJS-00M0A0 ATA Device (160 GB, 7200 RPM, SATA-II)

PSU: MS Platinum 400W ATX (it came with the case)

It works ok, but it blocks when I have more programs open (few documents, chrome etc.)

@Ganz

That looks like a great configuration. But when I select those components from my local store (in Croatia, Europe) the price of all of that is about 217$.

So maybe if you could make about 100-120$ config for me I think that would fit in my 150$ budget here.

Also I saw that G1840 does better in tests then A4-6320 (EDIT: but not so much in graphic kinds of test). Should i go with intel instead of amd?

If you need cpu horsepower: intel. If gpu horsepower: amd
