What? You wanna do what now?

PSU ===> POWER ===> HDD INTO PSU ===> POWER == / => HDDBUT NOT: MOBO ===> HDD INTO MOBO == / =>HDD

Like that?

It will not power the HDD so your PC will not detect the HDD because its not powered on. If you unplug the SATA the HDD WILL BE POWERED but not running because it isnt connected to anything

Yes, that should be fine.

So like this (is safe righ?)

Power cable connected to psu

Power cable connected to my ssd

Power cable NOT connected to my hdd wd green

Sata cable connected to mobo

Sata cable connected to my ssd

Sata cable NOT connected to my hdd wd green eben though the sata cable is still connected and i will leave the wd green inside the drive cage?

And it is safe to turn on my pc?

I will disconnect this wd green maybe for a month

Yes its safe as long as you have OS on your SSD, if you dont, you go back to BIOS :P

May i know what reason do you want to disconnect your HDD?

If you disconnect the POWER CABLE, Your HDD will not be powered therefore undetectable

If you disconnect the SATA CABLE, Your HDD remains on but is not active because it is not connected to anything.

Wait ,dont do it while its on?

You mean while disconnecting it right?

Its safe to turn on my pc after the disconnecting?

Even though the sata is still connected to mobo but not hdd?

Don't disconnect the hard drive while the PC is powered. tl;dr: Turn it off, then unplug it, then you can turn it back on and use it as normal.

The reason is

My wd green is turning off and on (power saving)

And i need to fix it using wdidle3.exe

But i need to backup my data first

But i dont have my external, because its still being rma

I unplug sata and power cable for my hdd

But still being plugged in in the mobo and psu

So ita correct right?

Should be fine if you leave the SATA and POWER cable not connected to the HDD, but remains plugged into THE MOTHERBOARD and PSU. But dont do it WHILE ITS ON, turn it off, unplug it, then turn it on. Completely okay.

And is it okay to leave the power and sata cable unplug next to the hdd?

Because the guy who cable manage my pc is sloppy

I cannot move it anywhere else

Even if. If you don't connect them and complete the circuit, then no electrical connection is made, and it's as if you didn't have the wires plugged in on either side.

i'm using this method

  1. Steam > Settings > Downloads > Steam Library Folders
  2. Create and add a new library folder on your SSD
  3. Move or copy your game files into the new library folder. Make sure to follow the same path. (SteamApps/common/GAMENAME)
  4. Delete your local content for the game through steam. (Uninstall it)
  5. Reinstall your game, but choose your SSD as the location for install.

but i dont have the steam exe , because its on my hdd
