Hey guys! I thought I would make a general topic than make a lot of sub threads with each individual question.  So if you don't mind taking the time to read my questions and help me out I would be grateful!

Question 1- I have currently one gtx 980. I am worrying that they still stop been sold by October time of this year (2015) Would I still be able to get my hands on a NEW reference design card around this time? As the card will be a year old by then. I am unsure how GPU life times work so some help there would be great.

Question 2- 980 SLI Some people say it works great others  say not so much. Do you think it would be a worthwhile investment? I have owned 660 SLI before and I must admit I found it more trouble than worth. However someone said the 980 SLI work well together?

Question 3- 1440p on a single 980? How well does it perform? I have looked at bench marks games running on ultra and it struggle to hit 60fps.

Question 4- The Asus ROG swift is getting this screen worth it? I have seen it in person and was blown away by it. I would love one but unsure if its worth the £600 plus price tag.

Thanks for reading my post any help is appreciated!

1. They're still selling reference 680's

2. 980 sli works as well as sli ever works, erratically, but very well.

3. no idea but bouncing against the 60fps limit in some games and registering as 58 fps isn't a problem

4. no idea. I'm a couch gamer with an overbuilt system. my screen is a 42 inch sony bravia.

The 980 is gonna be sold for quite a while, I'm guessing easily into next year and possibly through most of it, though if you couldn't find one new im sure you could find a used one.

I'd say 980 SLI would be worth it.

I'm guessing that it would perform pretty decently, maybe not constant 60+ fps in some more demanding games at ultra settings, but it should stay quite high in framerates.

Well, if you want the swift then get it, though I've heard of it having quite a few issues.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

I would like it to be new but if it came to it then I will get a used one. So 980 SLI worth it you think? I plan to skip the next gen you see and then move on. Hmm well 1440p with a single 980 will be untill october as I plan to get a 2nd 980 then.

Issues with the swift got any links or anything for me to read? Not heard of any issues.

They still sell reference 680s? May I ask where?

Has SLI imrpoved at all from 600 range?

Hmm I am just used to get insane fps on my 980 on most games

Well 1440p would be my next jump you see

SLI itself hasn't improved much, but it's implementation certainly has, you'll have to wait till DX12 to get a jump.

Again card isn't the issue, but the implementation is. Certain recent games have hard FPS caps on them.

And I'm currently happy with my 1080p 200Hz TV that I sit two metres away from. What would be an upgrade from that for less than 1000 bucks? really?(without being some no name brand that you wouldn't trust to put your kids in front of because it might burn down the house)
