Hi!

So I've been having some slight issues with my new gaming PC. The system is otherwise stable with AIDA64 stress test, Firestrike, Unigine etc. running just fine and graphics intensive games like Crysis 3 running perfectly stable but I've been having tons of graphics bugs/glitches in a lots of games including shadow/texture flickering and LOD issues.

Specs:

OS: Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit

CPU: Core i7 4790k @ 4,6GHz + Corsair H100i

MB: Asus Z97-AR

GPU: MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G 2-Way SLI

Memory: Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB 1866MHz DDR3

PSU: Corsair AX760

Storage: Crucial MX100 256GB/Samsung 840 EVO 1TB/WD Green 4TB

BIOS version: Z97-AR BIOS 2205

What I've tried thus far to no avail:

Rolling back drivers

Removing all overclocks

Removing both GPUs and testing them individually

Re-installing windows, updating all mobo drivers and updating BIOS to latest version:

And haven't noticed any issues with temps either. CPU temps are high 20s/low 30s C in idle and around 50-60C on load. The upper GPU is naturally a bit hotter and touches 80C in benchmarks and graphics intensive games like Crysis 3 but that shouldn't be an issue afaik.

Recorded a few videos from a few games to showcase the issues: (note: these are just few examples, almost all games I've played have similar glitches)

Metro 2033 Redux: shadow glitches

Bioshock Infinite: Something funky going on with the ground shadows and lod issues (notice an entire building disappearing when walking closer)

The Witcher 2:

Part 1: Weird "stretched" textures from time to time, Geralt's neck hair textures flicker, Cedric's shirt texture bugs (it's like it has a hole)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5u6QZgKq3s4

Part 2: LOD issues, a wall in the distance disappears depending on distance.

Crysis 3 also had issues like some smoke effects disappearing from a certain angle and some wall textures disappearing when moving close to them but I accidentally deleted the save files after re-installing windows.

Would really like some advice/opinions what the cause of these issues might be. I've completely ran out of ideas.

Thanks in advance!

Well mostly maximum. Those dual 970s do have some power.

And yes, glitches are expected but it seems every game I play has some sort of texture or shadow flickering. I did not have these issues with my previous PC.

If you look on YouTube for Bioshock infinite: graphical glitches, you'll find several videos showing lots of people with the same issues.

I don't think its a problem with your rig. check you draw distance settings and shadows settings in the games. If you use the option to set settings to ultra it doesn't always set everything to maximum.

Hopefully you're right and it's either game or driver related issue. And I always use custom settings with my games and often change stuff like FOV in games via cfg files etc.

OP run each GPU out of SLI/as single cards and see if you get the same issues.

Please read the OP again, tried that (among other things) and it didn't change a thing. :/
