I while back a started playing portal 2 with my girlfriend and left off halfway in, probablem is upon playing some more my wireless 360 controller isn't working in portal 2. It seems to work in every other game except battlefield 4 another game that used to work perfectly fine with my 360 controller. Other than these games the controller works flawlessley. And the kicker is the controller actually works in the menus for portal 2 however when it comes to actually playing it does not. Yes I have it enabled and I have tried several console commands to try to get it working and that hasn't helped either. Any ideas?

Did you plug in the controller BEFORE you booted up your PC? This fixed a similar problem for me.

yes

Solved the problem for me by typing "joy_remap_player_for_controller1 1" in the Console. In the past I wanted to play Keyboard/Gamepad Splitscreen Coop and didnt reverse the settings afterwards.

tried that before, didn't work
