Need a nice and simple audio equalizer/booster program?

Hey guys so like I said, I'm looking for an audio equalizer thats good for basic use. im not like an audiophile or anything. i just don't like flat audio when i'm listening to something thats supposed to be bass heavy. Just want a program that can equalize audio according to genre of music (hip hop, pop, vocals etc). Also a program that would boost the audio levels a little higher to sound louder.
 
Appreciate any help. First post on the forums by the way!

Your audio chipset driver doesn't have this feature built in?

I have the Realtek audio that comes with my asus motherboard but im not really a fan of it. doesn't have something to boost sound levels.

 

I don't think it can be done (boosting sound level).

 

Well, yes it can, just use EQ, and raise the gain level. But 90% of the times, this will just introduce new problems, usually sound clippings.

 

If you wanna go louder, but still keeping the sound quality, consider an external amp.
