I want to do the same thing. but wasn't able to find out much :'(
I've ended up trying to look for a very large gaming surface (1200mm x 600mm being the biggest).

 

So sorry to say i can not answer the question but will have another good google and if i find anything i will let you knwo :)

 

PS: 
     wiki show most are made from a rubber base with a cloth surface on it   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mousepad
 

Wounder if you could buy a roll off rubber and i've seen people on youtube sticking carbon fibre on mouse pads.... so that might be an option ??
