This is going to be used for gaming at 900p. I'm stuck between using an r9 280 or gtx 750ti (yes I know lot less performance just can save a few bucks sense I don't own any demanding games but might purchase some in future).

 

1 is 384w tdp okay for a 500w psu?

is the build in general good? there is some bad reviews for the psu saying the motherboard power cable is super hard to get it

With my Xeon, which is ~i7-4790 powerful, I get 55-75 fps on ultra in BF4.

 

wow, I'm assuming the fps wouldn't be any different with an i5 4440, would the fps be even slightly better if I got the evga FTW edition?

The FTW wouldnt really improve the FPS, no, and you may see a ~5fps drop between the i5 and my Xeon. My 5820K in BF4 made my 750ti run like a 760 with an i5.

do you think i should get the sc or ftw so I could overclock a little

The FTW will allow for higher clocks (most likely) but I have the SC and it works great.
