Above is my ideal system build, take a look and tell me what's wrong and why I'm an idiot.

Includes peripherals, monitors, etc.

Price is not an issue, but i want to be reasonable.

The peripherals chosen are my preference (Mouse, Keyboard, Headset)

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

Seagate? Please go with WD Black.

Price per GB is nuts on those though

The Video card was the toughest choice, as there have been many controversies over the GTX 970, ideally i would do 3-way SLI 970s, but I'm being careful around them.

First, the CPU cooler.  its good, but if you can stretch the budget to get something better, Noctua is best (unless you hate the color, which is admittedly ugly)

Second, the sound card.  delete it.  Tests have shown there is no benefit to having a dedicated sound card.  If you want premium audio, get an external usb DAC/AMP.

Third, wifi? dude, go ethernet or go home.  Run new wires if you have to.  Wifi is for mobile devices!

The cooler has been recommended to me many times, im not familiar with Noctua and personally, case doesn't have a window, so color doesn't matter

The WiFi and sound cards are just there for completions sake.

And OBVIOUSLY Ethernet is superior.

You're getting a 4790k and a superclocked 980 and you're complaining about WD Black what

I have SSDs for speed, the drives can be slow, especially if it will save me $200

The cm 212 is the king of value for after market cooling, but its not the king of performance.  for ultimate cooling performance (not including liquid) it's the Noctua.

Two SSD and hard disk not required.

ummm, yeah.

Boot off 1 SSD

Game off the other

The 2 drives are for storage, if I record/edit footage I read from one and write to another

Here, I made a better build. V300 have performance of a hdd, if you want get a 3tb drive becouse it's cheaper than 2x2tb, also I would rather go for a 1 4k or 1 1440p screen, oh and you have only 2 ears so 7.1 headphones won't work quite well, ath-50x are good too

If you are going for an ideal build get a Kraken x61 instead of the Hyper EVO 212, the Hyper is great but if you are going for ideal get the kraken and oc... a lot. IC Diamond TIM and I would get an Asus RAMPAGE V EXTREME. That is if you really want the best. Everything else seems fine but I prefer the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 980, that is just  my preference though.

Edit: I just realised that that mobo isn't compatible.

Ok, first off get a NH U14s instead of an NHD15, they perform roughly the same.

Second of all, don't get corsair fans. They're not too bad as far as fans are concerned, but they're way overpriced for their cheapy plastic build.

Dont get a 5.25 dvd drive in an obsidian case, they're ugly as all hell. Just get an external USB one.

Don't get kingston SSDS!

They're cheap because they're utter shit! I cannot express this enough, they barely get 100 up and down

Other than that i would recommend a define R5 instead for the case, but thats more of a personal choice.

Specs: 4790k | Asus Z-97 Pro Wifi | MX100 512GB SSD | NZXT H440 Plastidipped Black | Dark Rock 3 CPU Cooler | MSI 290x Lightning | EVGA 850 G2 | 3x Noctua Industrial NF-F12's

Bought a powermac G5, expect a mod log sometime in 2015

Corsair is overrated, and Anime is ruined by the people who watch it

Lookin pretty damn good I'd say.  I want this build!

I know I was the one to steer you toward the Noctua cooler, but if you want good looks, consider an AIO liquid cooler.  The Noctua is almost as good as liquid cooling but the thing is HUGE! which might be fine, but just be aware of it.

Others have commented on kingston SSDs, I'd look into it a bit, you don't want to be stuck with shitty SSDs.  They may be fine, but check review sites to be sure, and check amazon.com for average user reviews to get an idea of customer satisfaction.  The Samsung 850 EVO just came out and is a great choice, but more expensive.

I happen to be using a Kingston 240GB SSD right now, not having any issues.
