Well.  My computer's CPU idles around 45 degrees.  First off, is that normal, 2nd, and the problem is that the fans run quite loud all the time.    I must say, my cable management isn't good at all, could that be a factor?  Also, is there a way, without dismantling everything in my case - to find out if my CPU heatsink is on correctly?  I feel like there's something wrong with something :/   It's just loud and hot.  All the time.

Could you send a pic of your cable management? Also, what cooler are you using?

Stock coolers tend to be loud. Your temps are normal. And you might want to tidy up your cables a bit.

Is it really worth an aftermarket heatsink? (Any links would be great :3)

And is that most likely my problem?

Yes. Hyper 212+ or EVO are cheap and great coolers. And, it could be a factor, but like I said, stock coolers just aren't very good. Only meant to keep the CPU from frying itself at stock speeds(including turbo speeds).

So you're saying that this here should (yes, I realize its possible that thats not my problem) help reduce noise and keep it cooler?

Yeah tidy up your cables and your air flow will be much better. Getting an aftermarket heatsink will make your rig quieter and makes it idle cooler.
