So, Thursday, I used my paycheck to get myself a case (300r) and PSU (rm750) and some arctic mx-4 (because I'm alaskan, litteraly the only reason I chose it.) For my new build.

Today I was thinking, and I spent 50$ on bf4, and all its dlc (got the premium thing from origin) and I was thinking about maybe downloading the games on my old laptop (that I sold to my roommate) and putting them On a flashdrive so that I could move them back once i had my build all put together.

Would the change in mobo/CPU and all that make the game not work, since setup and everything checks what's in your system? Or what about the registry, it would be missing the registry bits.

Would this work, or is it better to just wait.

Just wondering because I have internet that has no reason existing. (Its centurylink), I litterally have .8MB/s down and .15MB/s up.

If anyone wants to see the build it is here:

Ignore the 32gbs of ram, was just toying around. Going for 16.

No it'll be fine, origin will validate the files and it will play fine.

What about for steam?

(I lied, I do plan on getting 32gb of ram, I'm a whore.)

I'd love to have no download times. Can I do this with any game?

It won't effect the game at all. The files themselves won't change or anything and the game doesn't change the registry. Everything should work fine, as I have moved my game files over many computers. Watch out though because BF4 + DLC is over 50Gb.. So unless you have a 64GB usb and a bit of time free it might take awhile.

Make sure you place the game in the game directory in Origin or in Origin make sure it is looking at the correct location where the game is. It might still say the game is uninstalled. Just clicked download and if it is looking at the right spot then it will just bump up to %100 and finish. If the game doesn't work try verifying the files within origin.

Hope this helps.

Yep, is one of the great things about Steam and Origin. You may have to download a file once its done but it'll be like 4mb or something.

Also why 32gb seems like a waste of money.

Yes you can do it with Steam as well. It is basically the same procedure.

Yay! That bf4 download though. That depresses me. Downloading a 7gb game takes like 3-10 hours for me.

Because. I'm a whore. I want it all, and plus this is probably going to be the same thing for 6 years or so.
