Hard Drive for Really Old PC

I had a 1 TB 5400 RPM drive running one of my older PCs (the one I'm using right now), but that hard drive died to I have to resort to this 8 year old hard drive that may die any second (however, no signs of hard drive death and recently re installed Win XP Pro.) Is there any drive options (whether that would be SSD or HDD) I could get that doesn't cost too much. I only plan to watch some videos on it, and occasionally play a game of League of Legends on it (1024 x 720 or whatever that resolution is, it gets like 30 FPS max dips to around 10 at a 15-20 FPS average). How much storage do you think I will need for that use case, and then a drive? Solid state is definitely a benefit, but is it necessary? I won't use this very often.

 

Specifications

Intel Core 2 Duo - 2140 @ 1.6 GHz

3 GB of the cheapest ram in existance DDR2 (2 sticks of 1GB ram, 2 sticks of 512MB ram)

No GPU as for some reason it doesn't work

Some dell motherboard

(not trolling) the power supply that was originally in here stopped working, so currently running it is a 750 watt CX750 gold power supply.

Well, if you don't need much storage and want the speed, go for an SSD, if you need large amounts of storage then go with a HDD such as a WD blue, WB black, or seagate barracuda

it stopped working ( the original power supply)and it wined like a b**** ( the cx750m) in my main build, so i replaced it in my main build with a 500w evga one, funny enough it doesn't wine atm, I may replace it again.

Hi there @zlolslavez!

 

Since you're looking for a drive for basic storage and LoL gaming, I personally would recommend to go with a HDD. That's because the SSD will give you faster loading times indeed, but since you're going to play online, where you need to wait for other players, you won't see that much benefit from that, and for video storage you'll need a bigger storage space. If you want you can take a look at WD Black, which is a performance oriented drive with capacity up to 4 TB and 5 years limited warranty:
