Noisy Laptop

Go to solution Solved by Samsterstorm,

When I say "Noisy" i dont mean the laptops extractor fan, or cooling pad. Im talking about one of the actual hardware making a very very awful screeching sound, and in my last post i didnt make a good example of it. I managed to plug in one of my mics and aim it towards the CPU area, Please note that it is not a studio mic, nor was it directly next to the CPU during the sound-test. It is not the hard drive either since i own a SSD. The Soundtest is in the attachments

Does anyone know what i have to do? I can take it in to a computer shop but that would just make a dent in my wallet that i dont want to make, or i can open up and do some of it myself. Note that this is a Dell Vostro 3700 Laptop, and no - its warranty has expired. Im able to open it up to its bare bones, right to its motherboard and take the CPU cooler off IF NEED BE.

******* EDIT **********

sounds like maybe coil wine! Cant really sort that but it may be coverd under a warranty by dell, its really hard to sort that out ursekf! Even i wouldn't attempt it.

EDIT: Ok well if u have no warranty then u may be stuck!

Any idea what caused this to happen? Or atleast possible causes?

How much do u use the laptop? Electronics do wear out and this can happen with age, or it may have been damaged during a drop?

Dang, at the very least - 5 hours a day, at the most ~ 15 hours a day. Been using it since end of 2011

*** Edit ***

The motherboard was also replaced by dell quite a few times during its lifespan up till now
