Noob Question

Go to solution Solved by Sequence,

no it wont unless you also transfer the virus/infected file along with it.

I have a laptop with a lot of movies, program, games that i need for my new PC

but i think my laptop have a lot of virus even though i already clean it using malwarebytes premium + Windows defender + avast

my question is

if i use a flash drive and format it to fat32 and copy my games to the new PC

will the flashdrive carry a virus from the laptop too? (if there is a virus left on my laptop)

Well you can always scan your flash drive after you finish coping your files just to make sure that there are no virus (most probably there won't be any viruses).

Update : why is my new PC cannot scan the flash drive?

using malwarebytes and windows defender

malwarebytes detected items 0 , so malwarebytes cannot detect the flash drive

and windows defender just stuck on progress bar and my real time protection turned off because windows defender thinks that it was my hard drive that cannot be scanned
