Proper RAM packaging?

Go to solution Solved by dadasmithywinkle,

So, I finally heard back from Kingston and got my RMA number for my two faulty RAM modules. But I have a question.

What counts as "proper packaging"? Kingston specifically states that if something is not properly packaged, they will reject the RMA. But then gives no instructions for what proper packaging is. I was thinking just placing the RAM modules in their original plastic clamshell, and then into a box with bubble wrap. Think that's good enough?

Thats more than good, yeah.

The only thing they said was "do not send RAM modules in an envelope". Which is exactly how Newegg sent me the RAM in the first place. A bubble wrap envelope, not sure what color, that kinda brown/yellow/orange envelope.

Word. Thanks. I just want to make sure I get my replacement modules. Then when I do I gotta send in the pair I'm using right now because it's throwing some errors as well, at least under MEMTEST86 it is.

By don't send it back in an envelope they probably mean not a regular envelope -- a bubble envelop is more than likely fine.

That's basically what Newegg did with my original set. Came in a bubblewrap envelope with a plastic clamshell containing the ram. I'm just gonna say f**k it and use one of the random small newegg boxes I've got laying around.
