Hi guys I wasn't 100% sure where to post this because I am not entirely sure on the cause.

Overnight it seems that my computer has stopped working for absolutely no reason; when I press the power button on my computer absolutely nothing happens. Last night I was gaming and using blender before I went to sleep. I turned the computer off via a normal shutdown, I didn't remove the power or hold down the start button.

I have tried jumping the mainboard power header and also using the motherboard power button with no success. I have removed all peripherals and interchanged my RAM sticks, checked every single cable and connection.

The strange thing is that even though my entire computer is powerless (no lights anywhere) the southbridge is still getting warm... I am utterly clueless here.
-Note: Just burnt my finger touching below the SB heatsink.

Help will be greatly appreciated,
Oliver Legg // Radioactivetux

Unplug the power supply for 10-15 minutes. Let the system get nice and cool and try again.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Start removing bits and parts from your build to see if it does anything.

First start without the power cord, replace that, also check the wall socket it might be dead without you knowing , after that start removing RAM and start it, then remove the ram and video card and start it, then remove ram video card and hdd and start it, see if you see any life coming back, if not change the PSU, if you have one that you are sure it works, if everything is fine, then it's either the MOBO is dead(as in a short) or something happened to the bios, if you have dual bios check that out also.

1 other thing it might be, the Processor(once i forgot to plug the power and the hole pc would not start, so either the power isn't getting to it, or it's dead)

When my computer won't boot I go the simple route.

Unplug the power supply from the back. Power button, switch the powersupply switch and press power button, switch it back and plug it in and turn it on.

Literally all you need to do. Unless you have a short of a defective cpu/psu/ram.

life();
