If it's just because of the case, than try moving it and/or add some rubber washers or alike.

Yes it's just buzzing against the case.

Then a noise isolating mount should help in the short term. rubber tubing, double sided tape, (bungie springs if you're feeling adventurous.) Anything you can think of to remove contact from metal basically. I'm assuming it's a high rpm hard drive. The hitachi?

and if it's buzzing from inside the drive..... Backing up now might be a damn good idea.

I have a quick question...

I just tested the drive. I took it out of the drive bay and it stopped buzzing while I was holding it in my hand. I put it back in, and the noise also stops. However, the problem is that the noise stops for those 20min AFTER I put it back in the case, but then it starts again later on. Sounds like it might just be vibrating against the case, right?

Another option is felt door pads. They have adhesive on one side and if you get the right ones you could probably get a screw through them

It might have stopped because your PC wasn't accessing anything from that drive that needs a really high rpm speed. It should just be your HDD vibrating against the case.

If it sounds like ticking or clacking, then that's another story

No, just the steady clicking of an HDD. "Click.... Click...." That's fine, right? You can only hear THAT noise if you focus on it.

Any drive will have a resonance frequency. If it can interface with a case that can hit that resonance frequency it will amplify it. If you can interupt it somehow your drive quietens down again.

Of course there is one obvious solution no one has mentioned yet......

Buy an SSD.

This HDD is a temporary solution anyways because it was salvaged from an old HP.

Besides, I'm 14. No job, and not rich lol

But thanks for the suggestion :D

Buzzing in what way?

If it is vibrating against the case then you can just use an old bike rube to insulate it at all the points of contact.

LOL

I sure did use the wrong word, it's meant to be tube

That is hilarious!

Let me just place my small pumpkin into my computer to stop buzzing... Yes, that will help.
