Phobya UC-2 Waterblock

So I've been using the Phobya UC-2 Waterblock in my system for about a month or so now.  I love the ascetics of the block for the price.  However, with the price comes (what I believe) is horrible performance.  At first I thought it was just the fact that I didn't tighten down the block enough.  I also thought that my possible IC Diamond application was poor.  So today I decided I would take the block off, clean it and the CPU extensively, and try another go at it.  I got identical results after reapplying the block.  Just sitting on the desktop right now (at stock 3770k speeds) I'm getting 36C.  But when I overclocked the CPU to just 4.0 GHz I was sitting at 45C on the desktop.  Not to mention that when I'm in games the CPU jumps to 60-65C immediately.

 

Does anyone else have a similar result while using this CPU block at all?  I have no idea what else could be causing the CPU to get so hot.

At what voltage are you running it? 1.3V is as high as you should go.

 

edit: if you think 1.3 is too much, run it at 1.2V, i have a 4670K with that voltage @ 4.2 and that's also 60-65°C on a h100i, maybe that will give you a reference for the temps a bit.

I don't believe I ever changed the voltage.  Unless the ROG board felt it when I accidentally changed to the ROG Gamers OC Presets.  I will check it.

Well yea that's probably what happend, almost every mobo bumps up the voltage when you OC. I won't be suprised it's at 1.45V now and causing a lot more heat output.

The voltage is at 1.112V.
