I want to buy this: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-113-BQ

But, I currently have an AMD R9 295x which only supports Mini Display port. BenQ monitor only has Display Port connection. Would I need to buy a special adapter/cable that is 1.2a or will 1.2 work cable work with FreeSync?

Would either of these work with FreeSync?

I don't believe it matters what cable you use... As long as the port on both ends are 1.2A.

Is it bad that my dream setup only costs a few thousand not counting the obutto?
