Nvidia PhysX Source Code Free On GitHub

@OP is it open soruce or free source? if AMD/Intel doesnt have access to it in new games then this sucks as much as before, devs dont largely adopt features like physx/mantle for 1 vendor only,if its not for all its not gonna happen for any.

Anyway i like where this is going,UE4 free, Unity5 Free, DX12, LinuxSteamOS, now physx somehow free hopefully kickass games in next year.

This may strongly influence my GPU purchase. If this will make AMD work with Physx will it also make AMD not suck in Nvidia gameworks games like TW3? I am an ultra graphics enthusiast, if I can get an Nvidia games features to run well on AMD...

Isn't this code for CPU physx?

Rather than anything which will be accelerated by an nvidia GPU?

Shift 2 and Project Cars are games that uses PhysX on CPU as a core component for the game (ie car physic). Both of these games run mediocre on AMD. Project Cars at one point has the GTX 770 outperforming the R9 290X. Yes even though it is on the CPU not GPU there is always something fishy with Nvidia-gameworks titles. We have AMD Gaming Evolve title games that runs well on both vendors and we have a Nvidia Gameworks title games that only runs well on one vendor.

By releasing the source code Nvidia tries to have more developers to use PhysX on their games thus becoming a Nvidia Gamework title and then we know what will happened...

Nvidia is illuminati ^_^

Now has Richard Huddy the chance to prove Nvidia's physics engines are crippling AMD's performance.

Yeah, except BS. I've already gone through it. There's absolutely nothing on here that checks GPU IDs or does anything predictive to change performance patterns in any way to suggest it would cripple any other GPU. Richard Huddy is a washed up narcissist.

GameWorks would be one thing that is remotely possible, but PhysX? HAHAHAHA!

youtube.com/watch?v=fZGV5z8YFM8 at 30:00 Richard Huddy starts talking about Nvidia gameworks crippling their performance.

Gameworks is not PhysX and this is just Huddy making excuses because AMD doesn't have access to the source code of the GW binaries. AMD has access to the binaries. Anyone in the world does. It's called disassembling and decompiling.

Stop eating up that narcissist's words like gospel. The man's hardly worth caring about.

He was complaining about their performance in Batman titles which had Physx, he also explained that physx was just a .dll and when AMD called devs up for something I can't remember exactly anymore then they said they're on a contract.

If you haven't noticed, I didn't believe a shit of what Huddy said.

Gameworks titles all, not related to PhysX itself.

Batman arkham city wasn't a gameworks title

huddy complained about tasselation initiated by GW killing amd cards preformance. PhysX has nothing to do with that. it deals with movement by wind, particle effects, etc. If physx kills an amd cards performance its not because of it being an AMD card per se, its because its supported by a shit cpu (usually an FX). run a 290x with a 8350 on a physx game and itll run shit. run it with a 4690k and it will run comparative to a 780/4690k setup, but look slightly worse, due to physx on cpu being gimped to even be able to run.

If AMD wants access to GW source, then well... the would have to open their empty wallets. Huddy is just trying to abuse the situation to get something from NV for free, as an underdog.

Nvidia refuses to support AMD hardware which in turn under contract makes games more optimized for Nvidia hardware. AMD on the other hand is nothing like that with their own physics engine TressFX which runs equally well on both manufactures hardware.

What?  No it didn't.  It ran like total ass on nVidia cards.
