I know we usually go the other way. However I am at the point of having to consider a downgrade. The main problem is that my current EVGA G1000 is too long to allow for a 240 rad in the bottom of my case.

I am considering switching to a Corsair AX860 for the shorter length. But I want to make sure it will provide sufficient sustained power for my system.

Running a

4790K

Maximus VI Formula

Asus 780ti (may SLI later)

8 SSDs

XSPC custom loop with DDC pump.

Grid+ fan controller

Lots of LED lights.

Should I be ok with the 860? And more importantly what about if I increase my Video card count.

Thanks guys.

You should still be fine with 860W, but I wouldn't want to go much lower to allow headroom for that second 780ti. Especially with that custom loop and those lights, that is iffy. Personally I would get a different 1000W PSU that will fit better just in case (and for quieter operation)

I may switch to 980s eventually anyway. Went ahead and ordered an AX860. It will be fine for now at least. Sad that the problem is about 1/8 - 1/4 inch. :-(.
