Volume Issue

So on my Windows 8 computer, the system volume icon is missing. I went into "Customize Notifications" and made sure the system icon was turned on. For whatever reason it is greyed out and wont let me change it. That is the only disabled icon. Help Please

I've had this problem before, it is due to the driver crashing. I found that restarting helped.
