Speedfan, not working

Go to solution Solved by Dogway,

Yes, I know, life would be easier if developers cared enough for documentation as they do for code.

I'm wondering something though. I closed speedfan, and fan speeds didn't reset to BIOS default. More strangely I run a stress test to GPU, and fan speeds didn't change a bit...

Do I need to keep speedfan open all the time? I only want this behavior when gaming.

Edit: There's also a problem with one of the fans, below the 60% speed mark, it can't sustain and reports RPMs way below the corresponding % mark. So I can't make a silent profile, I'm not sure if it's risky to run fans so slow (60% is about 550RPM).

Hello. I would like to setup speedfan to pump up exhaust fan speed according to GPU temp.

The problem is that I don't get any response of the fans by tweaking fan speeds in speedfan... even from the main tab. I'm not sure if this is a communication issue with the chipset or what. I use a Gryphon Z87 board. I guess that to communicate with drivers in low level I need the Intel Management Engine driver (the LMS and JHCI services), right?

I'm using latest version 4.51. Any help is welcome.

yeah, unfortunately, I never managed to get speedfan to work, in this or other systems I had I faced similar communication or detection issues.

The thing is I deeply refuse to install junk like the asus suite software, etc. Not to say they are able to control fan speeds according to GPU because I think this is a bit uncommon.

SpeedFan constantly has similar problems for me.

Never known what it was.

you need to make sure that the fan settings accepts the control. change the fan control from pwm mode to manual.

this is the setting within speedfan itself

@Jetster: If you know better, let me know...

@bbqsauce: This you mean?

yes, if i remember correctly you need to change to manual control.

if you are using a curve under fancontrol

bbqsauce, it worked wonderfully after finding the correct PWM controllers. Thanks a bunch!

no problem, speedfan is not user friendly and i understand the frustration, theres not much guides to properly set it up.

it took me a long time messing around to finally set things correctly.

also, take note of which sensors are for which, cpu/gpu, they aren't labelled very well. lol
