Most laptops have the cpu soldered in. Doubtful you'd be able to swap it out.

Well, you posted like 5 nondescript CPU models.

If you are running Windows 7 or 8, click Start, go to my Computer, and write what it says next to Processor

you can't switch laptop CPU's as they are soldered to the motherboard.

Do you KNOW if that particular model is soldered? More laptops than you think have been unsoldered for the last ~12 years.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

yeah, but even if they are, it's not like you can just go buy a 4710HQ of a self at micro center... How would you go about upgrading it?

If you're in the US Ebay usually has a treasure chest full of old processors. If it's not soldered the replacement would go similarly to a desktop, just a hell of a lot more work to get to the socket.

The same way you do a desktop chip. Buy a chip compatible with its socket.

Also, a 4710HQ is a soldered chip, so it would not fit in any socket. All the HQ chips are soldered.

As the person above me also said; ebay is a good choice. There's also sites like RJTech which can sell CPUs for you.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

check the intel ark first. my old laptop use T2390 and it can be upgraded as long as it has the same architecture, socket tipe and bus speed. but quite hard to find some mobile CPU tbh :/

spent another money and buy another newer laptop for better improvement in performance :)
