So I'm posting this because I really want to upgrade my current rig to a new one but I don't really have a ton of money to spend on it. Keep in mind that I'm from Croatia and the prices probably vary from the prices of the same parts where you live. This is also my first ever build of a brand new PC, all do I have messed around disassembling and reassembling old PCs before. So for the build i would like you to tell me if its possible, is it OK price to performance or could I get little more for little less, and any tips for building are welcomed :).

   -The specs:

AMD x8 fx-8350

MSI Radeon R9 280 (3gb)

MSI 970A-G46FX

2xKingston 4GB 1866MHz DDR3 CL10 DIMM HyperX FURY Black Series

Corsair Builder Series CX500M, 500 Watt, Modular Power Supply

SEAGATE HDD DESKTOP SSHD 3.5" / 1TB / 64m/ SATA/ 7200rpm ST1000DX001

Thermaltake Versa II

Couple of other things to keep in mind: no need for peripherals we have a rotation system (every time a new PC comes in we scrap the oldest one and rotate the rest of them), my monitor is currently a very small one and I have no idea about its refresh rate the resolution is 1366 x 768, my budget is ~1000USD (total of this here in Croatia is ~6300kn and that is ~990USD, also no part picker link but if anyone is interested I can make the list there :).

All and any help is welcomed and appreciated :).

If you do go with this build you will need an usb 3.0 to usb 2 header adapter as the motherboard you have chosen does not support usb 3. Will you be planning to Overclock and if so what cooler will you be using?

Get a i5 4460 a h97 board and a new mother board that should keep your PC going strong for a while longer

I do agree with @GhostWindGamer. An i5 abd H97 board would be the best choice for you.

Well that could have been an issue, thanks for the warning. I also agree with GhostWindGamer and I did though about an i5 but I don't really know which one to chose since I plan on overclocking later on when I get the budget for a custom CPU cooler and some more case fans as for the MOBO I will pick up a H97 if I manage to find an i5 to fit in my budget, maybe some recommendations?

doesnt seem like a bad build just grab a good dell 24 inch 1080p monitor or your favorite brand.

I will most definitely upgrade the monitor when I gather enough money for it, right now this one is pretty good but my current rig is an old budget buy and has a mini ATX board so it gets the priority when it comes to upgrading.

I agree but can you recommend a budget i5 that can be overclocked because my fist build had the i54690k but it was kinda braking the budget so I had to ditch it and go AMD :(.

btw thank you all for replying so quickly and for all your help :)

I would say your set up is solid, but if you can afford it get an ssd, even if its an small 120Gb ssd for you operating system that will help a lot and then install ur games in the mechanical hard drive

I did think about that but SSDs kinda brake my budget so I compromised and went with an SSHD which should do for now and I can always upgrade in the future (kinda) :).

Funnily enough that's what I wanted in the first place, the i5 4690K and the GTX 970 but it just costs so much and the fact that I wont probably do 4k for at least another few years it just made more sense to replace the GTX970 with the MSI R9 280 since I only plan on gaming in 1080p but I will try to find and replace the fx8350 with the core i5 (hopefully 4690k) and make it all fit my budget. And yes all do I would love to buy your build you'd be amazed just how much more everything costs around here (the gtx is ~490USD here) :( so I have to make the best of my money. Thanks for the list tho and if you could recommend any other i5 that can overclock and has an ok price or really any i5 with an ok price I would appreciate that  lot since im not really in on the processors and price to performance of them lately.

But if you look at it and what you previously quote in the first post it comes to a few dollars less than the ones you selected.

Yeah I see what you think but those are the prices from here in Croatia translated to USD not the prices of the parts on lets say amazon or newegg, so the actual build would be cheaper in lets say USA or Germany but as I said everything just costs more here so its hard to get something good for your money :(. I didn't really make that clear in the first post so my bad I'm really sorry if I confused you. So my actual question at this point is can anyone recommend any good i5 that aren't terribly expensive and if possible can be overclocked :).
