People of the forum, help.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma. I have found a Gigabyte 7970 for 135€ but there's a (small) catch. While it still has a month of warranty it was used for mining for 4 months. Should I take it or not?

Doesn't hurt the card especially if only used for 4 months...

These cards work just fine like a normal card that has been used for gaming. As long as it has been used in a well ventilated room it won't harm the card.

someone who games 12 hours a day every day would rack up 4380 hours a year, its a 3 year old card so if it was used for gaming that way it could have easily clocked up 13000 hours!!

serious gamers use cards way more than mining.

but either way I wouldnt worry neither damages the cards only thing that's likely to wear out are the fans and they're cheap enough to repair

not all warranties are transferable and what's a month anywho?? I'd consider it out of warranty at that rate.

if it's in budget and your budget is tight buy it.
