Relatively cheap streaming PC?

Go to solution Solved by dadasmithywinkle,

Hi guys,

I'm thinking of building a new PC for twitch streaming and was wondering what I could get for under 400$. I already have a setup, but its in a different room in my apartment ( bedroom to be precise). I know streaming is mostly reliant on the CPU, so would I need to invest in a GPU? Any help is can get is appreciated!

This is the best I could do, but with a bit of OC'ing the G3258, it'll be damn good.

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  ($60.98 @ Newegg)
Memory: G.Skill NS 4GB (2 x 2GB) DDR3-1333 Memory  ($34.99 @ Newegg)
Video Card: MSI GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB Video Card  ($126.98 @ Newegg)
Case: NZXT Source 210 (Black) ATX Mid Tower Case  ($37.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Power Supply: EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Power Supply  ($24.99 @ NCIX US)
Total: $398.41
Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available

Would you be relaying video through via your main rig or would this be gaming and streaming?

My arsenal: i7-9700k Gaming Rig, an iPhone, and Stupidity.

For the games nothing really major, some CSGO, Street Fighter, mostly will be streaming for a PS4.

Here's my speed test results, my upload speed is about 40mbps.

Ah, very nice list of parts. Is it possible to get a quad core for under 70$? Or perhaps a dual core with ht?

Ok so your upload speed wouldnt hinder you then. So if you were to game at 1080 and set your bit rate to 2500 ish and turn all the graphical filters down a bit the 750ti would just about do you for those games. Theat cpu would be a problem with encoding and gaming tho, youd end up dropping a lot of frames unless u played at 720p probably.

So if your streaming from the ps4 would you be usuing the inbuilt streaming, or have you got like an elgato to capture it and stream via your pc?

Have you got any pc parts you can resuse to save some money from that build and put towards an i5 cpu or something? (Case, hard drive etc?)

I have a capture card for my PS4. I don't have any parts that I can reuse unfortunately. In time though I will be able to upgrade parts.

Youd prob want to get a single 4gb stick of ram then so you can upgrade to 8gb in future as that mobo only has 2 slots you wouldn't want to be maxed out with only 4gb

Edit* lol whoops I couldnt see the black slots till I zoomed in my bad. Thats what I get for viewing this on my phone!
