Hello all

Been a fan of LTT for well over a year now and finally have need to hit up the forums so thought id give it a shot.

So I want to give streaming a shot and could do with microphone and audio advice.. I have decided on a Blue yeti after Linus' review and so many 5* reviews on Amazon.. so do I go for the pro, or regular version..? Next I will be streaming with friends and want to balance all out voices to come out at the same volume as when I've streamed in the past my voice is always loud and the others are drowned out.

Not using any software other than shadowplay at the moment so open to suggestions

Thanks in advance

If you are just starting out, a Snowball would be a better way to go. You definitely don't want the Yeti Pro unless you have a dedicated audio interface to take advantage of it.

The projects never end in my line of work.

+1 for the snowball. Yes the yeti is nice but for stating out its a lot of money. Look at the snowball and also look used on Craigslist and refurbished on Amazon. You might be able to score a yeti or a mic just as good if not better than the yeti for the price of a new snowball, if you get lucky :)

PC Audio Setup = Beyerdynamic DT 770 pro 80 ohm and Sennheiser pc37x (also for xbox) hooked up to Schiit Fulla 3

The Yeti is probably the best USB mic there is. For better quality, you will need XLR, which needs a dedicated interface.

That's a matter of opinion. Some like the Yeti some like the AT 2020usb. But who cares, yeah? The point is those are both really expensive and overkill for a starting out streamer. A new snowball or a used/refurbished yeti or at 2020usb is a much better value.

good advice thanks!

what about balancing the audio?

Balancing as in Left/Right? Or leveling? what do you mean?
