I Purchased http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813132124R&cm_re=asus_sabertooth_z97-_-13-132-124R-_-Product

For my 7D build log and got burned by NewEgg. They shipped me a board with about 12 bent pins so needless to say Its going back. I have had this issue before with an open box Newegg product so make sure you keep your receipt  :D

I think It was a Ploy toget me to spend more money because after I put in the return request I bought one of these. I guess i'm a sucker. but this board is

That board is a beauty! You can take my Z87 Sabertooth and give me that one :D

Buying open box from Newegg is like buying from someone who "doesn't know how to computer"(or package for that matter). That's just how its been from my experience.

Very very true. Almost as bad as Microcenter's open box items.

Is this the same as buying refurbished?

I bought refurbished AIO's from Newegg.ca and they looked completely brand new.

No, the Open Boxes are just returns that are quickly (if at all) checked and then sold.

Ya but saving $50 to $60 is work the risk. thats why i'm not too mad.

I've had 100% failure rate from Newegg open box(between motherboards and hard drives), so I took the risk and realized that it was not worth it lol. I'll do open box from Microcenter though :) They seem to know how to test things before reselling them.

well so far I have purchased 3 open box motherboard and of the 3. 2 had issues onewas witht he PCIE slot and now this one with bent pins

I have also purchased refurbished Item off of newegg and have never had an issue with one of them so I think its an issue with the facility that does the open box items.

I've had good experiences with MC's open box stuff, but it does vary from store to store so yeah.

I've never had a bad experience, but I did buy my 1000P2 as a return unit and it came with 10 new ASUS sata cables and paperwork/goodies from an ROG Formula VII mobo.

The microcenter near me is really bad about open box motherboards.  Last build, I bought one and it had bent pins so I got another open box motherboard.  It also didnt work, and when I went back to exchange again, the original one with bent pins was back on the shelf.

Newegg open boxes have been pretty good for myself and others, though.

I never buy open boxes and if somethings arriving here that´s not originally sealed it goes back unopened, I only buy new items.
