How much ram do I need?

I'm just wondering, I was planning on getting the 16 gigs of ram but the 8 gigabyte version of this just went on a really good sale, would it be worth it to buy this ram now and buy two more 4 gig dims in the future?

8 GB is usually plenty for the average user, depends if you're running opening a ton of browser tabs, etc. 

 

EDIT: If you decide to get 8, get on stick of it. 1x8gb

I'd say get 8 to start with and then just add another 8 if you really need it down the line. 8GB is perfect for gaming and good for video editing, although 16GB will be better for this.

8 gigs. 16 if you plan on opening a few thousand web browser tabs.

I'd go with the 16Gbs. And an air cooler and bigger SSD. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/DqvjK8. Saves about 30 bucks and gets slightly higher specs. You could also buy a 2pack of 4Gb dimms, use that and see what your usage is like. If you need more you just buy another pack and slap it in there.
