Hey guys,

I'm planning on upgrading my pc soon. I currently have a athlon x4 @3Ghz coupled with a HD7850 OC 2Go and a 500W PSU.

Since I'm all about gaming, my choice would be 3570k + a $130 (max) Mobo.

Which motherboard should I get? Is Intel really that good or a similar priced AMD CPU could compete in gaming?

btw, two boards caught my eyes: the Gigabyte Z77X-D3H and the MSI Z77A-G45 (17$ cheaper)

Thanks :)

I would go Intel, but that's because i render and edit videos^^

I just got myself the MSI Z77A-GD65 and the board is so insanely nice, dark-blue colors that just fit my colors to the perfect! ;)

why get the old ivy bridge platform and not haswell?

Getting the 4670k and an Asus Z87-A motherboard would make more sence - theres a bunch of great features on the z87 platform.

Any z77 board should do unless you're doing monster overclocks.

I have the G45 and it has done me well. I don't see any reason to get a better one unless it had more usb ports.
