6950 performance today?

Go to solution Solved by sirtoby,

The 6950 should be a slight improvement over the 7850. The 1GB vram  shouldn't be a problem if you don't go higher than 1080p. Some Benchmarks: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-7870-review-benchmark,3148-6.html

How do they perform?

Any problems with it being old?

better than my 1gb hd 7850?

Worth 60$?

Thanks!

Performance wise they are around an r7 260x. Hence performance of around an HD 7790 which is worse than your he 7850. I would get it for 60$ just to make a cheap kickass build but that's just me xD

That's in 2012. With updated drivers the HD 7850 performs as fast as a 570.

A 6950 is a significant enough downgrade from a 7850.

Strange considering it get's it's ass handed to it by the GTX 480, but I reckon the bus width, Vram and higher ROP count on the 480 is what is doing it vs the 570.

Stock vs stock the 480 stands at around 7% faster.

Ass handed to it? A 480 is at best 5% faster than the 7850 and thats not taking into account that it runs as hot as hell ,consumes more than three times as much power as the HD 7850 and how ocerclockable the HD 7850 is.

This is not an argument...

The 480 can OC like mad too even on air, just runs like an AMD 290X heat wise but quieter LOL.
