G3258 vs FX 6300

Hello. A friend is in the need of help. Which would be better for gaming? An overclocked G3258 @ 4.6 (4.8 if lucky) or a stock FX 6300? And why?

FX 6300 will be stock as the CPU itself is a bit more pricy here and the mobo to overclock it is a lot more pricy here where we live. And this is a budget CPU Mobo and Cooler upgrade for 300 euros. So what I think of is ASUS H81M-C G3258 and EVO 212 and a few cold beers! Would be the stock FX 6300 better?

An i3 will be better than the g3258 because it has twice the threads of the g3258. In gaming an i3 is exceptional value right now.

you only count the processor+cooler price

you didn't consider the motherboard+cooler+psu that capable to reach that point

 

in the end is that worth it?

+ you won't run FC4 & Dragon age with 2 cores processor
