Is their anything a H97 has a H81 hasnt???

CPU: Intel Core i3-4150 3.5GHz Dual-Core Processor  (£84.16 @ Scan.co.uk)
Motherboard: MSI H81M-P33 Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard  (£34.57 @ Scan.co.uk)
Memory: Kingston Fury Black Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory  (£54.98 @ Dabs)
Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive  (£42.97 @ CCL Computers)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 3GB WINDFORCE Video Card  (£139.98 @ Amazon UK)
Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case  (£27.90 @ Amazon UK)
Power Supply: Silverstone Strider Essential 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  (£46.64 @ Scan.co.uk)
Total: £431.20

Difference is more or less features. Also the h97 is going to support broadwell processors while the h81 is not going to support broadwell processors. Broadwell however isn't going to be that much faster than current haswell cpus. Also get the i3 4130 instead of the 4150 cause h81 motherboards don't support haswell refresh cpus (like the 4150) without a bios update. The 4130 would run out of the box with the h81 so get that instead :)

No the b85 is almost the same as an h81 board, the difference is that it has a few more usb 3.0 and sata 3 ports. In order for haswell refresh cpus to be run out of the box you would have to have either an h97 or z97 board. The difference between the 4130 and 4150 is only 100 mhz :P So basically in real world performance you would see no difference in performance between the two.

pick up an i3 andthe cheapest 1150 socket mobo you can find, means you can upgrade to an i5/i7 at a later date eg i5 4770k, other than that a 279 is a good bet too fit into your budget

CPU-i5 4690k 4.4ghz @ 1.190V, MOBO-MSI z97 gaming 3, Cooler-hyper 212 evo, GPU- r9 290x asus directcuII (-37Mv), Storage-120gb v300(switching soon), 1tb caviar blue, CASE-Red/black h440, PSU-Antec TPC 650.

Damn a z87 board for under 50 pounds. Yeah don't worry it would work with the Xeon. With the z87 ,You could even get an unlocked i7 4770k and overclock it if you want to in the future.

Just need to do bios update? So an i3 4130 would be good to do that?

Beats my £50 less kaveri option

EDIT

Oh heres the build

Looks good but if it's going to be your first build just get a standard tower case. It will be much easier to build in and also to ensure that long cards (like the gigabyte r9 280) would fit, as well as better temps and airflow. Also the i3 4130 is going to work out of the box with the z87 without a problem. You would have to update the BIOS in the future if you are going to use a haswell refresh CPU like an i7 4790k or i5 4690k. The Xeon e3 1230v3 and i7 4770k are haswell CPUs and thus would work without the hassle of updating your bios.

Much better. An i3 itself is much better than an a10 7850k in terms of CPU horsepower. Its also much more efficient. Also with the fm2+ platform the highest end CPU is the 7850k. With the i3 you would get an upgrade path which leads to an i7/Xeon which are the best editing CPUs money can buy(excluding socket 2011 CPUs ofc :P).

The worrying thing is for £50 quid more i get so much more lol and if i went to the r9 270 i could get below £400 lol

Then get either the corsair spec 01 or the next source 210. Both are kinda the same price (spec 01 is £37, source 210 £33). Get whichever one looks better for you. Both are great budget cases.

Here is an example. As you can see even though the game ignores the extra threads of the i7 it wholeheartedly uses the extra threads provided by hyperthreading on the i3. To the point where they too are maxed out.

I'm gonna be the skeptic once again. That is a game that used hyperthreads on the i7-2600K. It mostly ignored them on the hexacore except for 1 HT core, and on the octocore it barely touched them at all, but it still used them a bit.

I need a game that will, without a doubt, NEVER touch a hyperthread core. Ever. But will use non-hyperthread cores over 2 cores. I want to be 1000% clear on this.

I have finally moved to a desktop. Also my guides are outdated as hell.

THE INFORMATION GUIDES: SLI INFORMATION || vRAM INFORMATION || MOBILE i7 CPU INFORMATION || Maybe more someday
