low firestrike score

i got 18k, i've seen people get over 20k with a 4790k

Your score seems about in line with a 4790K and a pair of 980's.

 

You certainly will be able to improve your score by overclocking those 980's though.

 

EDIT: derp, I thought you had a 4790K not a 5960X, my bad.

doesn't 3d mark use the full 8 cores? so shouldn't it be higher than the 4790k?

Yeah 3D mark does a pretty good job at using all of the cores. Is 3.8GHz all you can get out of your CPU? Push that harder, as well as your GPU's and your scores will improve.

3.8 is all that i was brave enough to do. my temps are at 47 degrees
