My xfx core r7950 fan is kind of acting weird. the rpms max is 3000. I don't know if that's its highest speed. Also the fan's rpms sort of fluxulate. itll go from 800 to 2500 to 80 to 0 then 3000 then back to 800 continuously. it goes fast when i start a game then goes back down. I have updated my drivers to 14.12 omega. I also cleaned out my gpu kind of. I've had it for year and a quarter. I just cleaned out the dust yesterday. The problem is my gpu has started overheating suddenly. It wasn't a gradual thing so I don't think it's dust. Maybe thermal paste. I'm getting an air can and thermal paste tomorrow so that's fine.

Any other tips to fix this problem or is there anyone else who had these problems?

Have you tried setting a custom fan curve with software like Msi Afterburner?

the driver stops working at 82C, it black screens and crashes

Oh, okay then. Well, I would think that this would be a overheating issue and it seems as it if your gpu is not being adequately cooled anymore perhaps for an unknown reason. The cheap fix (which i would try first) is to put the cooler back on with new thermal paste, and ensure that the fans are functioning appropriately check the wires so they aren't frayed ect and just physically look at fan speeds.
