Anyone ever had their case powder coated? I lie the Coolmaster Storm Stryker but I don't want the inside of the case to be white. I can either get all the inside pieces powder coated or I can also get a trooper and take the side, front and roof panel from the stryker on put it on the trooper frame but this does leave one black stripe on either side as well as obviously the back and bottom so if powder coating is cheap that'd be preferred. Any advice?

I'm gonna have to take it apart to do the mods I want anyways so thats not a problem, and I'll be building my next rig bit by bit so I can just order the case first if it's going to take awhile. I'm just wondering which is more cost effective, powder coating or buying both cases and sort of patching them together.

Frozen CPU will professionally powdercoat only the inside of your case for about $300.  Powdercoating is quite expensive.  You can always search online for shops that powdercoat products and get quotes from them.  I'm about to have a case powder coated and the best price (for the level of quality that I'm looking for) is about $275 at a place local to me.  It's definitely not cheap but does look fantastic.  If you have a case that you will use for a long time, it can be worth it to get it just how you want it.

You could try contacting FrozenCPU and seeing if they will drop the price for a local job since you won't have to do any shipping or anything (they're located in Rochester, NY I believe.)

Gosh I think Linus had it done to his personal rig. He took it apart and sent it somewhere.

I think he sent it MountainMods but I'm not 100% sure on that.

I had no idea Frozen CPU was in Rochester makes me kind of sad that I'm moving next week haha. But if it's going to be that much I may just buy the Storm Trooper ($150) and rearrange the panels. The bottom and back will still be black on the outside but that's fine. Only part I'm worried about is there is a stripe near the top that will still be black so I might have to paint that to make it match. The upside being of course that I can use the frame of the Stryker and the panels of the trooper and have a second case I can use as like a server case or something

Yeah if that works for you, then it sounds like that would be a much more cost-effective solution.

If you do decide to go the powdercoating route, you would need to make sure that all plastic parts are removed, since they wouldn't be able to hold a charge to let the powder adhere to them nor would the plastic parts be able to take the heat of the oven that is used to cure the coating.

yeah, like I said I have to disassemble the case anyway to make my mods. all the plastic parts would be coming off temporarily in that process, I'd just be sending them the metal pieces that make up the frfame.
