7770 problems

This isn't for me it's for a friend, he got a 7770 a while back I installed it for him, he booted up and began playing WoW and got 100+ fps (he hadn't turned the frame limiter off) he turned the frame limiter off and got 200+ fps o.o

Since then though apparently his performance has degraded? He's running at stock cause he's too scared to overclock ( *sigh* ) so that's out of the question what do you guys think it may be, he's dropped to about 70fps now.

That was my first thought but as far as I know I don't think so, he doesn't even notice the difference :/ got a 60hz monitor but he's annoyed cause my other friend is on a 650 TI Boost running ultra + 8x anti-aliasing etc.

The fact that at minimum settings I can run the game at 100fps on my macbook pro says something :/ (I usually play on max settings around 30-50fps and while recording medium settings about 30-35fps)

Definitely sounds like server connection considering its an mmo, but really it could be anything new drivers, bad HDD/SSD I wouldn't worry till it dips below refresh rates.

HDD! I completely forgot to factor that in ^_^ thanks xD my buddy with the 650 TI Boost is on an SSD, explains everything :D I think o.o

Anyways when I can walk I'll go overthere update his drivers and tell him to get an ssd XD. Explaining how to update his drivers can and will result in facepalm (He said he's gonna get a 7850 and sli it with his 7770 ..........)

The 650 ti boost should be more powerful shouldnt it?

True but the game hasn't had an big updates xD and the 650 TI Boost should be more powerful but almost 3 times more powerful? I think not especially considering it's being bottlenecked but that's a different story.

Has he installed Mods? Wow mods tend to do this, Also I have a 7970 and wow doesnt run that high unless i turn shadows down and the new lighting features.

But it could very well be mods.

He installed the dx9 mod but he's running on dx11 so that shouldn't be effecting him now should it?
