ssdboot harddrive storage

Hey guys I tried to set up my storage solution following Linus guide on ncix but I messed some stuff up and now anything put on my hard drive goes on my desktop and when in my computer I don't have the desktop icon I just have a folder that has the same name as my hard drive. I'm worried that I may have to restore my hardrive and ssd and I really don't want to does anybody know how to fix this?

If possible maybe I could talk to somebody on Skype and they could help me and I could get into more detail and actually do a screen share.
