I have a 2004 chevy express 2500 cargo van with 130,000+ miles on it and ive been ave a knocking noise under my Car and its not hear able from engine bay and olny appears when i heat my car up. my best guess is that its the transmission but I dont know if you guys know something about cars and may have this problem please help me out

 

I understand this is off topic but you guys are all well knowledged people and may know whats going on in my car.

I have a Saturn Vue and I had knocking, but was told that it was self diagnostics on it never been an issue yet.. How long has the knocking noise been going on for?

when I got it about a month ago it wasnt so notice able but over time ive started realizing that its knocking and its olny there when the van is heated up

Go get it checked out it could be various reasons. Maybe a strut or a knee assembly. I doubt it's the transmission if it's coming from the bottom.

I bet it's the exhaust pipe. :P

I had knocking on my Saturn S300 2003 and a month later engine cracked or something and totaled my car. I would have someone look at it at least. A professional not someone trying to diagnose from a forum.

Loud noises from an automatic transmission usually don't last very long, and not in a good way.

 

I'm with Vtheman16, could be some sort of linkage or suspension issue.

 

But valve sounds are often more audible from the exhaust system than from an open hood.

Have you maintained the vehicle well? Scheduled oil changes and check up?

If not the transmission may be the culprit. Its hard to determine what the problem is without seeing the vehicle and hearing the noise.
