Sapphire 7790 Issues

Go to solution Solved by MarioCardona1981,

Well it seems that the card was defective. I went to the store where i purchase it after a week having this problem , they gave me a new card and with the new card and i didnt had any issues so far, no driver issue or crashing , on gaming the card runs great

I just bought a 7790, my previous card was a nice card 6670, worked great but it was time for an update, the problem with the HD 7790  is that sometimes when I'm surfing the internet using google chrome i get this message: "AMD / ATI Video Driver has stopped working properly. ", i get this message only when im using google chrome, not when im playing any game.

I check the temps and everything is fine, my psu is not great but i think its enough to handle the card , i checked the temps and everything is fine.

my specs:

CPU: AMD Phenom II 955 BE 3.2 (no OC)

RAM : 8gb ddr3

VGA: Sapphire 7790 1gb ddr5 dual-x OC (stock speed)

Motherboard: MSI NF725m-p43

PSU: Thenmaltake TR2 600w

I have the drivers up to date, could this be a driver issue ?

Two options. Reinstall your video drivers, or reinstall Chrome.

If reinstalling Chrome doesn't work, what happens if you disable Hardware Acceleration?

Post back here with results after 5-15 minutes or whenever the issue starts again(if it does).

Try a different PCI-E slot.

The motherboard only has one PCI-E slot, it's a low end motherboard

I found this because im about to buy a 7790 myself... LOL. Try uninstalling the drivers again, then run Ccleaner after its done uninstalling, On Ccleaner run both the Cleaner and Registry options... Try that to see if it works.

You can download Ccleaner from: http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard

I recommend you also just have on your PC after... Its a really great tool!

Thats very weird. The last thing I can think of is if you go to Ccleaner (again LOL) go to Tools - Startup and go to the tab that says Google Chrome. There try to find anything related to AMD drivers or something, and if you find anything disable it. If you dont find anything then I just recommend you install W7 again and get it over with
