290X $289 USD

I'm looking to upgrade my Asus HD 7770 and although it is by no means urgent if I find a good card for a good deal i'll jump on it (perhaps literally.) I have $275 ish USD and I don't get money very often because i'm fourteen. I was looking at this http://www.dealzon.com/deals/radeon-price#powercolor-radeon-r9-290xand I wanted to get peoples input on this deal. I know the 290x was a pretty good price at launch and it seems to get lower and lower all the time. Something i'm really afraid of is buying it and just as the 300 series or the 960ti comes out and I feel like I could gotten a more power efficient, cooler, similar performing card if I would've just waited a month or two. What do you guys I should do? Thanks.

If your PSU is sufficient and you can get this deal go for it!

The new R9 390 series will cost much more and this  R9 290X will be a big performance boost to your HD7770.

The 290x beats the 970 in some cases. I say wait. The card has already dropped to the high $200s. When the 380x comes out, go with that. If the 380x is too expensive, then the 290x must be even cheaper. Then you can snag two 290xs and call it a day

Honestly, I would say go for it. The 300 series equivalent would be much more expensive than this, and this is the best deal you can get that is within your budget.

That card right now actually has a $20 off promo code and a $30 rebate making it $269.99 and $5.01 under your budget for a well reviewed non-reference 290x. If I was looking for a 290x I would jump all over this. I glanced through some reviews for this card on other tech sites and it seems to be highly recommended, so you wouldn't go wrong with it. Since you're debating whether or not to wait, that all depends on how badly you want an upgrade right now. I've seen rumors of new cards being announced anywhere from March to May, and take that with a grain of salt because those are just rumors. I do think AMD's cards will be out "soon" as I think they'd be foolish to not release something with all the negative attention Nvidia has been dealing with lately, but of course, that's just my opinion. Good luck!

I defiantly don't think I could go wrong with the 290x but do you guys think it would be a wise move to wait? Again i'm not in any hurry.
