I have a decision to make. I can get a 4670k and other nice components, but skip the discrete GPU for now and use the HD4600. the HD 4600 plays every single game I  play very well, considering my resolution is only 1680x1050. I would be buying something along the lines of a GTX 760 in a few months once I get more games to make use of something like that.

My other option is to get an FX 6300 and a GTX 660, with mediocre components. So, what does anyone think about my two options? Which should I go for?

Basically any way you can upgrade from a 660 is good in my book. For example, the 760 is about the same price and MUCH better performance wise.

CPU: i5 4670k • Cooler: Corsair H100i • Motherboard: MSI Z87 MPOWER • RAM: Crucial Ballistix Elite 2x 8GB • Storage: Samsung 840 250GB SSD, 2x WD Red 3TB • GPU: EVGA GTX 780 3GB • PSU: Corsair RM750W • Case: Corsair 750D • Mouse: Razer Naga 2012 (I actually use the thing for productivity/media buttons) • Keyboard: Ducky Shine 3 w/ Browns - Green LED • Monitor: Asus PB278Q 27" 2560 x 1440, ASUS PB238Q 23" 1920x1080 • Lighting: 2m NZXT Sleeved Blue LED Strip • pcpartpicker.com/p/3cHfZ

I would go with the first option so you can save money in order to buy a better gpu.

The first option. Without a doubt.

Make it a poll thread please.

Are you making a new build or just upgrading?

What's you budget and if you're upgrading, what are you current components?

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

I am making a new Build. Budget is around 700-800$.

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1ceNn I was thinking something like this for the 4670k build, then add a GTX 760 or 770 around September - November.

Get a GPU, even if it is a cheap one it is much better than no GPU. You don't have to get a Titan or a 7990, but maybe in the very near future spend a bit of money on like a 7870 or something like that. There is no point in building your PC to do what you want it to do and nothing more, because you don't know what you will want to do in the future.
