Hi,

Due to De-Ionised water, reclaiming electrons from my copper blocks (=corrosion) I've decided to tear down my custom WC and go all air cooling, as my PC has to be dead reliable now more than ever.

Since I'm using a modded Xigmatek Elysium, which's powerbutton is dying, I've decided to get a new case while I am at it, as I have sawn appart quite a few pieces such as the HDD-Bays and so on in order to mount rads.

Now I have basically decided upon the NZXT H630. I was initially going for a Lian Li PC-V750B, but honestly close to 400$ for a case streches my momentary budget quite a bit.

So, I've heard the H630 does not cool as well with only 1 200mm fan in the front and a 140mm in the back (as included with the case).

I thought I'd add a 2nd 200mm fan in the front and one in the roof + perhaps a NF-F12 or two in the bottom as extra intake. (Depending on noise levels, quiet operation is priority number one).

Now I have to go with a big tower, as I am using a MSI X99S xPower AC Board, which is E-ATX.

Also I am keen on a case with a metal shell, that's why the fractal define r2 xl is no option tbh.

Now I am going for a NH-D14S for my 5960x (As I use Dom Plat RAM, I can't use a NH-D15).

An Alpenföhn Peter 2 for my 290x with two NF-F12 as air delivery for the Peter 2.

I was wondering if anyone sees a problem with this concept, and / or has any advice or severe negativities about the H630 you think I should know before buying it.

Thx in advance :D

the h630 has the same affliction as its smaller brother the h440. can be restrictive

on the front intake (more so the front causes reversion as it'll start to feed from

the case interior)

tasty PC did a thorough review on the h630

the arc XL, enthoo luxe/primo, 750D going of the h630 need. but since going the

air cooled route anything with a rear 140mm fan would house any high-ended air

cooler.

all the cases are steel chassis, but if its the plastic panels, the look to the C70

from corsair (all metal)

Thx for your reply.

I saw Tasty's review, and the reversion, although she figured that this is a problem with any smaller than 200mm fans in the front or only one of them, that's why I was wondering if 2x200mm in the front would solve this issue (and eventually 2x NF-F12 in the bottom as an extra intake, as I have 6 of these form my WC setup and got 4 "spare" after I added 2 to the Peter 2.

I don't really like the looks of the C70, somehow like the rather clean lines of the H630.

Oh thx for that rule of thumb with the 140mm rear exhaust, easier than searching for the manufacturers specs every time ^^

I have looked at the enthoo primo aswell, although I'd push up the spendings another ~100$ (at least here at my retailer).

And well, I like the sound dampening, ofc you can sound dampen any case but it'll push up the price even further :D (and challenge my rather poor applying-stuff-straight-skills  (fu legos x) )

Would two 200mm as intake, opposed to one, solve the problem of redrawing the hot air? (logically I should I guess, practically? :D]

you can save some cash and look at the enthoo pro. accommodates your air

cooling, HDD and has no flow issues. only concern is that with a very negative

pressure fan layout, the dust can be a bit much.

2x 200 fans, no. keep it simple on 120, limiting options on 140.

Alright thx, I'll look into it some more, although the pro has this hideous plastic front ^^ So either the luxe or the primo, and maybe still the h630, not sure yet, will be another ~2 weeks before I'll order.

After reading another few reviews, especially the gamer nexus one where he really goes in depth about the noise dampening techniques and so on, which somehow explains why the H630 does neither cool well not is actually very silent, I might go for the Define XL R2 after all, as my Define Mini is satisfyingly quiet at night.

You don't happen to know of any serious fuck ups with that one? (Appart from the silence - cooling trade off, which I'm aware of ^^)

Thx :D

the XL is a decently put together case, overlooked by many. not a water coolers

dream case, but possible. seems made more for workstation usage than

enthusiast usage. seems they could have made the motherboard 8-slot and

conserved the roof for more rad options. but again, i am a snob on h2o.

Hey!

Another option!

Ft05!

Nice aluminum and steel, amazing cooling, decently quiet.
